No Dog Here: Flying to pick our dog up from her month-long “vacation” with her grandparents in Chicago. Seems odd to fly to or from Chicago without her under the seat in front of me.

Seabag: August 24, 2008. Picked this up in Camden, ME. They’re custom made in Portland, Maine from recycled sails. The handles are hand-spliced rope. Their tag line is “Sailed Around the World, Recycled in Maine.” I was unpacking from our vacation and determined to pick up another one of these during our next trip up. Of course, I could just order one from www.seabags.com

Behind Me: August 25, 2008. Like this view more when I have the entire top off of the Jeep. Because of the rain this summer (and our travel schedule), we never did get around to taking the entire hard top off and replacing it with the soft one. Luckily our hard top has 2 front panels that pop off.

Jeep Says Fall’s Coming: August 26, 2008. I took the Jeep out at 1 pm and it was gorgeous outside. 69 degrees F in August! Love it.

Paraduxx 2005: August 22, 2008. Love this label - and enjoyed the wine as well. We decanted this for five hours. Still a tad more heat than I had expected but very solid overall.

White Barn Inn: Verite Le Desir 2001: August 21, 2008. One of my favorite restaurants around. The only photo I took was of our evening dining companion and the bottle of wine which he guarded for us. Loved every minute of dinner there, as always.
